You know I really didn't want to feature another Riobe race. In fact, I was looking back through my old favourites and I picked out several that I wanted to feature by other authors. Then I stumbled upon this old ass map which I had completely forgotten, and when I went and looked back at my other selections they just weren't as shiny as before.

They’re talking about the demons: the creatures that are claimed to be “haunting” the house that you moved into recently. Near light is a race masterpiece. Throughout the map new and unique concepts are constantly thrown at the player in a way not often seen within the genre

The atmosphere is thick and dangerous, like you have been tied to an abandoned minecart, and flung hapless into the dark below.

1211 is a fantastic race author when he can be bothered with the genre, and I sincerely hope that he will return to it one day. — _destiny^-

Generally I prefer hard maps. Maps which make you feel proud when you finally manage to beat them. This one is an exception, as it’s more on the easy side of things. The rockets, the mines and the floorguard deliver exactly that portion of excitement and challenge which is needed here, no more, no less, and that’s what makes me want to play this again and again. I had never seen anything as frightening, as hideous, as wrong as that – that thing. I had only caught a glimpse, but its mutated body, its gaping maw and the bloodlust gleaming in its solitary eye had been enough for me. As I had run away in mindless panic, my only thought to get away from it, I had heard it slither after me, the malicious clicking of its teeth chilling me to the bone.

I now realised why this was called the Meat Locker.
