Description | Shiny new DDA! 2000 frames, and would you believe it it only took me two days.
A few thoughts: - Structurally, this is similar to my previous (unviewed, cough cough [nmaps.net]) dda: lots of thwumps and non-propulsion bounceblocks. I like it; it's alternately methodical and exciting. - There's a vague quality to a lot of dda's that often gets overlooked, which is the way the player moves around; it may be graceful, jittery, tentative, etc. I find it just as important, and more difficult to manipulate, than close calls. What do you think? - I think that there's a lot of ground to be covered with tilesets and one-ways in dda's; not that there's lots of room for innovation or anything, but I think it's the current best way to make dda's that feel fresh. - Thus, I feel like making more medium-size tile-based dda's in the future. Additionally so, this dda was fun to make and is probably my personal favourite so far. Enjoy! |
