Woah, you're related to Oleary15?
That's awesome :D Haha yeah, I'm proud of some of runs, so I keep them listed in case I forget which levels they were. And you're really good yourself, I found it really hard to beat your speed run on my level :).

Yup :)
Check out my profile if you wanna see all the official levels I've 0thed. Former means I used to have them.

look at my first map
and compare it to this one. you'll see what i mean.
around here if you have a short but fun and balanced map, you'll get major points. (and by points, I mean rates ^^)

its cool :)
yeah, this is really aesthetically pleasing and balanced for a beginner's map, unlike mine (my first maps were god awful) which is why I was suspicious. plus i used to multi-account as well so i have "experience" i'll say. but like i said, don't worry about it. i don't care too much.
my first map [nmaps.net]
my multiaccount [nmaps.net]
note: mahi_mahi was a multi-account of mustardude (my first account) which i used to 5 my own maps (i was an idiot i admit :P).

suspicious
that you are in fact /not/ a new author, that you created another account and that you are posing as someone else.
but don't worry about it too much. i'm probably wrong.

Speed
Can't believe it's your first map !
Tiles 8 are just a little annyoning in some parts but it's contribut to the design of the map and the atmosphere.
Remember me some metanet map.

Welcome to NUMA!
This is really nice first map. Really nice. I love the metanet-esque feel to it. It's awesome both for highscoring and speedrunning. The only thing I didn't like is the symmetry, but the map itself is very solid. And I mean very.
Keep it on, and welcome to NUMA! :)

Slow AGD
So, I'm not quite sure what to say here. I didnt really like the map, because its too simple, and there are no really exciting parts. The enemies weren't really useful. I will continue my comment in a more bullet-point form.
- Repetition (Symmetry wise) is hard to pull off. It's hard to make one side maintain the excitement of the other. Not to deter you from the idea of symmetry, there are ways to pull it off, but it is difficult. Repetition of a concept is probably a more promising path to start with. People seem to love that these days; an interesting idea, or an idea they havn't seen for a while or EVER for that matter, played out into a whole-bodied map that explores the idea to its fullest. Try and brainstorm on this a bit.
- Enemy placement is very important. Try and place them so that they are as effective as possible in killing the ninJa, but NOT where they are aggravating. If you are play-testing your map and say "fuck that rocket", get rid of or re-position the rocket, chances are your audiance will not like it either.
- Gold should be fun to get. SOmewhat challenging but not too aggravating. A lot of authors make gold scarce in their maps but hard to get, presenting an optional but fulfilling challenge aside from the central challenge of making it to the exit.
- Thumbnail is important. An interesting tileset will probably look good in a thumbnail. This point took me the longest to grasp, i guess. I've only recently found a successful tileset style that is both fun to play around on and looks good in a thumbnail.
Sorry, I know i gave you a lot to read, and it's summer. Just keep mapping and hopefully people will give you feedback that can help you as you go along.
Good luck my friend, hope to see more work soon.
