See!? There you go Ndeavour, submitted with a small image to show how it looks. I spent two days on this one, and I really hope you like it. I made my own tileset! Well, not really, it doesn't really contain any tiles, or does it? There are lots of secrets, so make sure to explore. For those who don't want to, I have included a tutorial on how to beat it below:

i did not mean the idea of a teleporter in general. i mean the type of teleporter i used. there are no launchpads in that dda.

I agree mostly with what Lightning55 said. The image needs to come after the map. Not before. When the image starts to detract from the map, it's time to kibosh the image or the entire map.

It is not that fun

because you can't really tell where to go. I am not much for memorizing routes, especially while dodging a laser beam...

looks pretty

decent, but the image really makes the gameplay annoying, since i can't really see the tiles. i can't rate maps better just because of an image anyway, therefore, 2.5/5.
If you watch this demo, I can go through the one ways. I went the path that you pointed out but I didn't have to go in that order.

Tilemaking is an art. I'm not that great at it myself. I recommend you look around for a mapgenerator and take those tiles and change them around a bit. Change them into something that doesn't resemble what it first was. Then make a map out of it and be sure to cite the author of the generator.

And this one is no exception. I would have liked it if the map actually made use of the background image, but way too many of these are not the same. If the map sucks before the image, it surely will suck even more with the image. I've seen very few maps that are enhanced by an image (albeit there are a few). The standalone laser is bad, especially since the laser itself is hard to see as well.

Tiles are your friend. Use them. Tiles add to aesthetics, mobility (which are usually impeded by one-ways), and structure.

PS: This map is ridiculously cheatable and nobody has to go the "tutorial" route. Just saying.
