I've not had that problem.

The laser really isn't very intrusive, I placed it so it always feels one step behind, but close enough so you feel the pressure.

Works perfectly for me.

The rocket and laser don't mix well here,

you're one of the only people that can do it well at all, but it's a hasty combination, especially here. The laser prevents you from going somewhere, and then the rocket forces you to. Most times you end up hitting the laser.
