my last rated map was 50 maps ago sort of depressing (I know I disabled ratings, but there were like 2 maps enough constructive comments to be rated) this only happens to me to sunset: Rates makes me happy, they show me that how much people like my maps/or not and comments saying AGD AGD AGD sure its cool that they play it but a comment or a rate would be better in my opinion. The thing that annoys me a lot is that I submit a map and it gets 2 comments, 10 mins later somebody like palemoon or lsudny submits one and out of nowhere 5 users show up RCE them maps |

They generally don't matter in the long run because a number doesn't say too much about the map's overall quality. Constructive criticism is the best way to what you think off the map. The only way rates help with that is that can make a map float up or down the Hot Maps page, thus adding to the attention given in most cases. Ratings of four or five make it float up, while ratings of one or zero bring it down.
I understand what you mean when they only say "AGD" or something along that line, but you can just ask them to say what they thought about the map rather than complaining about it to yourself.

but i don't see why rates matter all too much, tbh. they're just what people think of the map, and even then they just tell you in the comments regardless.
