Description | I'm considering making a race series, a bit like Destiny's Elemental series. However I'm still relatively new to the whole race business. Opinions would be nice.
Enjoy this anyway, my latest. Has a bit more of a jagged touch than my last, but the flow is a bit cleaner. Only thing to note is the jump after the final zap-drone section - you don't need a full jump, because you have to land on the 7/3 tiles. I'll post a demo anyway. Enjoy, and don't forget your opinions! :D |

drone timed races
can become very annoying. Most players are often faster than you so they tend to hit the drones. In regards to your idea for a series, go for it! If you need any help, just comment on one of my maps or pm me on the forums and ill help you as best i can! :D

pretty cool
it looked kinda weird... and the flow was a bit unsmooth in parts.
i kept on going too fast for this drone though...look at demo.

Alright
Next thing for you to do is practice 'threading' your flow back through areas that you have already used smoothly. Look out for opportunities to weave between tiles - or even replace tile with one-ways, or locked doors. Trapdoors can cover up routes already used before and it's possible to run across a thwump over a spot where earlier you dodged the thwump. Don't be afraid to cut through any pretty tiles you might have made, either. You can always adapt new tiles around your new flow.
I would also mention to be a little cleaner with your object placement (mostly mines, gold, and one-ways) but in this instance, the messiness has worked brilliantly with the theme.
That doesnt excuse your poor drone timing though, it was waaay too easy to go too fast. If you can't time the drones perfectly, then don't time them at all.
