I've liked some of your maps and disliked some, but either way I think you should spend more time on a map as "momentous" as your 500th.
This is just an idea. Try to spend like a little but longer on maps. You might feel better about your maps

I have over 400 favorites currently.
It's not hard which users and which styles I like. My dream is to make cool tilesets and object placements like cucumber_boy.

But as you can see, my actual simplicity style seems to be good too. I'm not going to find one main style. I will mix them up.
and i'm yet to reach 400. Alas, you gain more mapping skill from playing other people's maps than you do from just playing your own, and i've played a hell a lot of maps. I havent seen you comment on other people's maps that often, maybe you should try expanding your horizons a little.

There is an other way to avoid the mines at the start easily. Just fall and you're standing on the floor. Jump without pressing the left or right arrow key and you will be able to come out of this trap. ;D

I didn't used gausses because I wanted to hold the map simple and with a Less is more-concept.

Well,

the jumps were pretty fun to pull off. The floorguards added a lot of tension, especially at the top, where you had to plan your movements and not get killed at the same time. The start was a bit awkward for me. I mean, there's only one frame or so that you can jump before exploding. :/ The tiles are okay, but they suit the map fine, so it doesn't really matter that much about aesthetics. Hmm. This map would have been better if spaces were opened up, mines were moved and gausses were added, just for the hell of it.

The only reason I was upset about the sniping was 'cause it's my 500th map and a little event.
Actually, I don't care much about snipers.
If sniping bothers you, then disable ratings. It doesn't bother me as much.
