Tedious,

Hated the open game play, 1 thing hated.
this really turned out pretty well...maybe you just dont have enough maps under your belt yet to know what your strong points are

i appreciate both your opinions, and i do like the style ive sort of developed into. ive deviated pretty far with this map here, i just wanted to explore and keep things interesting, but ill definitely continue to experiment with my usual style, however this was sort of an experiment too.
I havent played many of your maps, but by skimming over them i can see what you mean. There is a technique to making action maps, and i'm only just getting there myself. It requires stopping and thinking about gameplay on a small scale, then applying it to a larger context and theme. It's tough, but if you experiement with your style constantly, you will start to get a feel for which directions you feel more comfortable with. You should persue those.
but this is more common on NUMA...your maps (which I have played quite a few of, but not commented on many) are unique. I liked their small, slightly puzzle-y trickiness. But as I said on my profile, I don't have a set style, and that's how I like it. I think it's good to be open about the types of maps you make.

Oops, I just contradicted myself.
