| Description | This is the last map of my elemental series!! A boss map style, its pretty tough. Enjoy!!
Here is the whole series: Lightning Bolt [nmaps.net] Infernal Flame [nmaps.net] Interlude: Canopy Crepes [nmaps.net] Ocean Wave [nmaps.net] And finally, Boulder Crest [nmaps.net] I've learned a lot from doing this series, about making mechanics and appealing maps. The first two now, in my opinion, are a bit too much of everything for some people too enjoy. I might have crammed too much into a map, when i dont necessarily need to fill an entire map. The interlude i made was a fun little map, i enjoyed every part of making this simple map. Agd/ speedrun it, i dare ya! I wanted to make a longer drone pathed map, because i dont think ive seen enough of those. Ocean Wave was the result. It might be a little too filling like the first two maps, but i think there was a good variety of drone-related challenges here. I know i will make another 'epic drone map' like this, but maybe just a little smaller of a version. Its hard to judge Boulder Crest, i had a tough time deciding which enemies fit the map the best. I initially had four chainguns, but definetly realized it was a bit much. Zap drones, a lone rocket, mines alone, all failed. This works imo, its hard, but made easier with patience. Anyway, i have definetly learned from these maps what went wrong and what went well. If you read this, thank you. Enjoy the whole series!! i've been away from NUMA, and am coming back in.
I jsut realized that there was another series: the Element series. like periodic table of elements. anyways, i'm liking the maps very much. the gameplay was fine, but... it was kinda... colorless. the lack of color makes the map seem dreary, and i don't really like it. And i think you could have done something better with the exit, and the doors.
altogether though, 3.5 = 4ed

i've just been playing through the whole series, its very nice, its quite cool to see how your mapping improves along the way
I really love this map though, mainly because of my love of chainguns, especially perfectly placed chain guns
