Description | This map contains what I believe to be a brand new concept in N after some research. If anyone has seen this idea before, please notify me and I will change this description and credit the author. As far as i know, this creation is my own.
Recently I became very interested with invisibility in N and started looking up maps that had different ways for N to become invisible, but most of these werent that fun and didnt add much to gameplay. After a lot of experimenting with oneways i learned that by placing many, many oneways immediately next to each other you could create a solid dark area (i call this a dark room) which N could freely move through. In this map, i made columns of oneways right next to each other so that n could move through the dark area in both directions as apposed to being able to move just in one direction through a horizontal row of oneways. In order to play this simple challenge correctly (and future maps which may contain dark rooms), you must go to the custom flavor section of the configure page and change all of your RGB values to 38. This changes N to the same color as the dark room. (In saying this, I assume that you've unlocked the custom flavor option, so if you haven't, you can't exactly play this map correctly). If you don't do this, you'll be able to see N in the dark room, which defeats the entire purpose. What I like so much about my creation is that as apposed to other ideas of invisibility, dark rooms make it so N can be seen in some areas, while not in others, resulting in a very interesting way to enhance a map. Please, please, please tell me what you think of this, and again, tell me if you have seen this idea elsewhere. RCE! |

I love the idea. If load times are ever a problem, I have a new comp and it it load this level, in under a second ^^
So yeah, don't worry about them, you'll at least have one person willing to play it to completion.

wow
I can't believe I hadn't played this map yet, I assumed it needed nreality, AND I can't believe I actually beat it (without cheating, of course). It took me a while to figure out the distance between the puffs of smoke and the ninja, at first I thought the ones in front were a lot closer to the ninja than they really were, and so I would always panic and head back out just before touching the gate key. I'm gonna have to give this a 5.

I have, in fact, already thought of this
but it was always too laggy for me to put it into use.

You said you liked simple challenges.
I made another and thought you might want to try it.

Sorry man. I was 'random' searching
and as fate would have it, I found a very old (http://www.nmaps.net/17656) version of this glitch in this manner. Not to burst your bubble. It's still quite an achievement to think of it yourself. I wouldn't have ever come up with it. And face it, every kind of glitch or exploit will be found at some point in 170K maps. We can only try to improve on these ideas.

So cool.
Very nice idea. I told you to tell me when submitting this >:/. Anyways, just awesome. Good idea for a map too since it would be hard to put into practice in many ways. I love the entrance, so much guesswork. The exit is too hard though... I could do it fbf but that defeats the purpose. 5 for the idea, 4.5 for the execution. This map REALLY doesn't deserve a 3 so you were obviously sniped a couple times. I'll get a couple people to look at it who will probs give it a 5.

?
There's a reason I took the trouble to write out "Using one-ways to create this effect"
Anyway, this implementation of the "invisible ninja" is a bit lacking. The switch is fine, but getting out of the middle area is too hard. In any case, it's too short.

Err
1. Using one-ways to create this effect is not new. I've seen it used before, though not to this extent. Not to discredit you - coming up with this independently is still cool.
2. The actual effect has been used in many maps before, and is far easier to create in NReality. See here [nmaps.net], here [nmaps.net], here [nmaps.net], and here [nmaps.net].

Yeah
That's a great idea.
I'd like to see what happens when you use gauss turrets, rockets and zap drones behind the one ways.
You could have small squareish dark areas with unknown enemies.
Rated 5 for innovation :)

O.O
i tryed another one but i tell u never listen to metal or something hard fast!!!this wont work...(cancled those map >.<)

cool idea!
ill give it a 5 for thinking :)
if someone wants to replicate this idea into something more practical (for large map use), someone could make a mod where an object (like a gold, a switch, something passable) turns the space around it (probably a block 1 snap big) a desired color. You could also mod the ninja to be that same color. Presto!
I don't know how to make mods, so i have no clue how possible that is.

I can't do it myself, too..there's always a white stripe here or there..

xD
i tryed such a thing too u need very much sensibility...i think its not usefull for large action maps

loading time isn't that bad.
well doing this with the idea to be invisible hasn't been done yet, BUT;
To put a lot of one-ways next toeachother has been done many times (but with a different idea)

Never seen that before
good idea but does cause a long loading time which is bad. 5/5 for the idea
2009-06-03
yea
if a larger map contains this thing it may cause lagging i think though 5/5 for those idea
2009-06-03
First I've seen
A great idea, I think. Of course, there's a problem: The loading time. Here it didn't bother at all, but in a larger map, it could cause frustration.
Excellent use of one ways. This might, or might not be ground-breaking, but as a map, I liked it (especially if you don't cheat).

BEATEN
i havent beaten even 1 column though :P
you could just edit the colour of the ninja on nreality so you dont have to change it in options
