That did occur to me

I just felt it was jarringly difficult compared to the rest of the map.

I think this might have been better

had you removed the middle mine of that first column of mines from the start and then removed the trap door.

That would have forced someone to reverse-jump up to that little area to the left of the exit and would have made the ending both difficult and fun to try and complete. At least for me I think.
