wow
when i got to numa, i didn`t realize one of my maps was featured, because i saw only the "2 maps with unread comments" button, But when i realized i had a rating of 3 by 27 people, i just had to go back and check out the reason. i have to say that i`m very surprised about the feature!

Three things:
1) Her, tileset_maker.
2) I highly doubt that, Sunset. M&R chose those rough, ugly, sometimes genuinely bad maps because user mapping had only barely gotten going, not necessarily because they prefer that sort of thing.
3) This map looks cool. I will play it sometime.

meadowlark had his second map featured. I don't see what the big deal is over early maps being featured. If the author makes spectacular maps from the get-go, why does it matter if it was the 1st or 100th map that author made?

though I still love the concept, it doesn't play that spectacularly. Better drone races do exist.

I didn't find it that hard. Beat it first try. I applaud the concept but the execution wasn't thrilling.

onesevennine did a similar concept a while ago and I feel that he executed it much better. I haven't even played this map and I can already see that it looks mediocre.

Well obviously...
It was the concept that charmed me. As I talked about with Kool-Aid, it might also appeal to players (like me) who are not quite as fast/good as him.
I agree that the execution has some small quirks, but all in all I found the map extremely charming. Also, making my first real feature a "mainstream" mapper would be too easy and uninteresting. They're for later reviews :D
I hope Matcher's still around to appreciate the best of his maps (imho) getting some attention and going into the rated category. :)

Interesting choice
At first, it looked like a mediocre drone-race map. After playing, I've concluded it is in fact a mediocre drone-race map. The object placement leaves a lot to be desired. 2.5
