Races

are generally maps that require you to remain at full speed (to maintain a constant flow in order to make the transitions), and are more often than not completely linear.

Action are maps that let you set your own pace, and can be linear or open.

Just do a search for the various tags and you'll get a general idea of what the consensus considers the definition. Of course, you can play with the definitions all you want, it's up to you what you tag.

Thank you, Astheoceanblue, I have already joined the forums although I haven't really looked thru any threads...

Oh, and I was confused about tags... I read the FAQ but it didn't explain the exact details of what is a "race" and what is an "action" map and so on. I know what a DDA is, and the difficulty tags are self-explanatory, but those got me stumped. If you have the time to explain (or know where a proper definition is), please do post (or Personal Message) me :)

Oh

and welcome to NUMA :)

You should join the forums [forum.therealn.com] if you can, we're all very nice really :)

You're both wrong.

It's 1-2 maps 'at a time' (use common sense to decipher what that means), with no real limit on daily submissions aside from the rate at which others are posting.

I'll have to delist this one for now, ask me in a day or so and I'll relist it for you.

Its two maps on the hot page at a time, you can sub up to 5 or 6 maps a day.

Right - thanks. Will do from now on.

You don't know this because you are a new user but only submit two maps per day.
