it's not like I'm trying to degrade you
It's just things that I learnt over time. It's advice, to make you a good mapper.
I'll say this: You're not that bad. There are people who used to make hundreds of CRAPPY maps. There used to be a guy named espada777777 who.....omg. =3 anyways, happy mapping.

Welcome to NUMA. And despite all of what DDRave said, this is still a pretty good first map. No one's first map is perfect, so try to learn from what you did wrong in this map and fix it in the next one. Have a good stay here :).

heres mine
1)dont start out TOO BIG, its usually bad for beginners
2)oneways like that are bad
3)Too many items like that are a headache for the players because it takes far too long to load. Tone it down a bit.
4)ALWAYS begin with a good tileset. enough said.
5)good luck with NUMA and n game, hopefully i can beat some of your maps.

your first map eh?
ehheh time to get cracking.
1. DONT HIDE ENEMIES. ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA. NOT BEHIND THOSE BOUNCEBLOCKS.
2. Try not to do that door thing, with the enemy sensing you only after you get the key. Either it sees you the whole time, or not at all.
3. If you experiment, the one way doors aren't exactly foolproof. check out the demo. Try to use something other then countless one ways.
4. No one really likes small enclosed, 1 gridspace wide pathways. Try to give the player some room to move.
5. The mines are ugly. You could have put them in places to make the map to look better
6. Oh yeah. the looks of the map. The map should LOOK good in the thumbnail. that way, people will look at your map. Experiment, and try gold patterns. Mine placement. Even drone placement might make the map a little more colorful.
7. You really should put down a substantial tileset, instead of working with those one ways
8. Don't make your map too long.
9. If you can't beat it, it's probably too hard. Tone it down a bit.
10. Above all, try. Don't give up. It's your first map.
