Description | The main focus is getting the fastest all-possible-gold here.
I spent about five hours and a half on this one. Enjoy. But don't chew on the granite. Apparently someone did just that to this map. |

Astro
Are you actually upset? Part of mapmaking is hearing that you don't have a good map. Rather then feeling bad, take these suggestions to heart, and consider them while playing your maps.
You don't understand how much rejection and dissapointment everybody goes through. You can never please everyone, and just be happy with the fact that you like your map. And I strongly suggest you try something new, even if that requires forcing something out. Recently I went astray from my safe, ordinary style and really went out on a limb, and I'm a so much better mapmaker because of that.
Plus, I'm especially someone that likes it a lot when someone tries to vary their map styles. The same thing happened with astheoceansblue. I was sick of his symmetrical flowy style, and I blatantly told him, even though I really liked each of those maps. They were just getting old.
Maybe it's just my twisted mind, but in some ways I feel like sticking to safe stuff that you know is good is sort of cheating. If you really start doign things that you're unsure of, you'll get so much more experience from making maps.
That was slightly longwinded. Oh well.

That said, it is still good to take constructive critism into account and make changes in response to negative feedback. Just don't turn into someone who makes maps for the sole purpose of meeting other people's demands.
So... sorry for bothering you all with my map-making philosophy... yeah.

Don't be bothered by the naysayers, astro. You have a wonderful map here, regardless of whether or not people are sick of the style. People have been getting sick of certain styles for a long time, and I reckon they will continue to do so as long as NUMA is around.
Part of being a good map-maker means following your heart and sticking it out even when other people don't appreciate or enjoy your work as much as is desired. Learn to love your maps simply because you created and enjoy them. You know how much hard work you put into them. Then you will be happy when other people enjoy your maps as you do, but your standards won't be hinged on public opinion or fads.
Anyway, pardon my tangent. I like the map by the way, quality stuff.

Am I the only one that's getting sick of this style? There's only so much variation you can do with cramped tiles like this, and I just find these maps boring, and really not very fun.
If everyone else disagrees, you should probably stick with this style, but I suggest you move on to something new.
