Spam is when you unnecessarily add more enemies. Just by looking at this, I can tell you that you have too many gausses and WAY too many floorguards. Two gausses (one on top and bottom) would be enough and two floorguards (one on each side) would also be enough. There is a fine line between adding difficulty and spamming.
