Hey incog...
You said you wanted advice, so here goes.
First, make sure every single object (gold, mines, oneways, etc.) you place has a specific purpose. Taking out anything that doesn't will make the map load quicker, look cleaner, and often even play better.
Second, it's very hard to make maps divided up into distinct segments, as this one is, feel like a cohesive whole. Usually (though not always) it's better if a map isn't too rigidly structured, and has some more open or organic elements.
Finally, remember to spend plenty of time playtesting your maps to figure out what is fun and what isn't. You can also try looking at what works well in your favorite maps from other authors and using that as inspiration.
