Description | Ded to Meta_Ing.
He has always been a cool guy to me. He posts speed runs and AGD's frequently and has been my highscoring goal. He frequently comments on my maps and I try to do the same for him. I am trying to change my style to make maps that are more fun to AGD. Many of my older maps are mainly for completion but now I'm trying to make them more highscorable. Thanks for (a bit) your support Meta_Ing. |

Thing is
if you built the tileset up around this, embellished it in places and added some atmosphere, the gameplay might actually be greatly enhance by it.
Maps like this - unless layered with images - always seem a little pointlessly obvious, that's all.

If you mix
two or more definitions of plain, then you can make it fit all you like. For the definition I chose (not ornamental), generic and plain are very different things. As plain can be stretched so, it's a poor choice to substitute one for the other.
Points can be diluted.

2/5
for the reason expressed below.
Generic means belonging tor relating to the whole ie: This map is generic as it looks like every other map on NUMA.
Plain (in this context) means: Marked by little or no ornamentation or decoration.
This map is most certainly plain as defined above. IMO: it's far too plain -> lacking personal flair -> anyone could make it -> which makes it generic.
The two words mean entirely different things.

Thanks for the ded
I'll play this when I get on a better computer, so favorited for now.

The point of the tileset
is not simply to house the objects. The atmosphere and style of the shapes created can enhance the gameplay considerably.
It's what separates the good from the great, and there certainly is such a thing as 'too plain'.
This map, for me, is just that.

Yea
Meta_Ing is cool =)
and the map, it was fun overall but getting an agd was frustrating and the tileset was too plain
