I'd suggest making your own tileset. people frown on copying tilesets from the game. second, I wouldn't clump my items so closely together. spread them apart a little. And you probably don't need as many as you think.
Keep working! and try taking a look at some of the better maps on NUMA. or maybe visit the forum for advice.
