Map Data

Description The NeoN Chronicles: Prelude

Year 2050. The wastelands. For 26 years, the Empire has been at war with the rebel human group called the "Liberation Front". For 26 years, the Empire has failed to eliminate these radicals.
You have just been pressed into duty by the L.F., as a scout-recon operative.

Objective: Rumors tell that there might be vast reserves of scrap resources in the area. Scour the wastelands for anything that might be of interest. Keep an eye out for the vestigial robots of the Empire, as this used to be a robot-junkyard.

Edit: Removed the rocket, hidden enemies and a clump of gold. Added bounceblocks.

All suggestions welcome, I'll keep updating this if people find more ideas/problems.

I added you on skype. the only problem now is that i'm in Australia. is that a problem with time zones?

pretty good, but yeah, you have to use less objects

Lol

at your death.
If you wanna know, the best flow goes from bottom right to left to top right. The gold in the middle should be the last to collect.
Thanks a lot for the 5, it inspires me to continue the series. I already have te next one in mind, it's gonna be a "retrieval".

Stylish beginning.

Worst death ever. I really enjoy this map. As you said, each clump of gold is an individual challenge. While I don't have the stamina to go through more than 4 or 5 in a row, each is fun and I think the level is extremely well built and enjoyable. I'm giving you a 5, and I don't throw those down easy.

too many things!
I really appreciate your taking time to help me out here. I've redone it a bit, added a few bouncies, removed the rocket and one clump of gold. I guess twelve is still too many clumps, but all of them provide different challenges to get. Some hard, some easy but I think most are fun.
I just don't have the heart to remove more gold, it'd make the map look empty, unless you could suggest a way of making it look better. Thanks again!!

PS: It's long because there's no actual action in the gameplay, no enemies chasing you around. You can collect as much as you like, and there's no hurry. So I think the more experienced players could go for AGD's.

Hidden enemies

make for awful gameplay.

This map needs less objects in general. I can imagine it would work best with tidbits of gold here and there, where the real adventure comes from finding out how to get to the gold, rather than having the adventure be about getting the gold.

Less enemies overall (especially the hidden ones), less gold spammage (I realize it's placed nicely but there's far too much of it), use bounceblocks or one-ways to allow easier ways to get around some places, try and keep rocket launchers from being too overbearing (such as in when one is trying to grab the gold just up and to the right of the rocket launcher)...

I think my only favourite parts out of this map was the chaingun section near the top right and the very bottom right part just where you drop underneath to where the floor guard is and jump over him while collecting that wonderfully placed gold along with the door switch.

Be sure to watch out for the things I listed above because they can make your maps more enjoyable overall. :D

Hope that helps!

Obviously,

You have to go for the gold.
