Fact is, I know my maps are hard. I know there are obscene difficulty spikes. Sorry for being stubborn, but I'm not contempt with a map unless there's at least some difficulty shifts.

There's a difference between "it's possible" and "it's easy" or "it's suitable for the environment in which it's placed". You need to get other people to playtest your maps, because a lot of your recent ones have suffered from wildly out-of-place difficulty spikes and fluctuations.


Like he said, I think you're capable of much more, but it's frustrating how often your recent maps have had just silly flaws that can be easily avoided.

Do you really think

jumping over this mine is 'not that difficult'? On a map with a long run up I could get that jump maybe 1 in 10 tries, but here there's one tile before it and there's a chaingun and a drone out to kill you as well. If you could get me a demo with that jump, I would be very impressed indeed, because it's better than I can do.

Anyway, here's a completion minus all of the gold that I thought was too hard to get (and the two pieces in the thwump line that I didn't want to risk getting).

Also, I didn't mean just leave the section empty 'cause now it seems silly. It's just that the rocket was too intense.

I get killed by the rocket because I don't see any point to continue playing the map, seeing as the only point I was getting at was that the rocket is not hard to dodge. It's not that that part is difficult, it's that you're thinking of only simple way to get it. And as for the chaingun, this is easily avoidable. I seriously cannot understand why you two think this is hard. But, I'll edit it out. Hiveminds annoy me (that statement was not to you nor maxson, just speaking in general).

While difficulty fluctuations have been an issue in my maps lately, I doubt this map is even close, nor in any sense, difficult in comparison to any of the maps I've posted as of lately that you have addressed as "difficult", or "frustrating". The fact of the matter is, I realize the difficulty in my maps. I don't need someone to remind me of the obvious but tell me to replace an enemy because of its stature. I have myself for that.

In the demo where you get the gold up there, you get killed by the very same rocket you claim is easy to dodge. I tried it a few more times, and even when I do get past the rocket, I have to miss out at least once gold piece. Furthermore, the gold where the drone starts is stupidly difficult, especially when you consider the fact that it comes after the rocket section and is covered by both a drone and a chaingun.

There's a difference between "it's possible" and "it's easy" or "it's suitable for the environment in which it's placed". You need to get other people to playtest your maps, because a lot of your recent ones have suffered from wildly out-of-place difficulty spikes and fluctuations. I mean, they're generally good, but having read some of your comments on other maps about finding them too hard, it seems to me that your sense for these things is bizarrely out of touch on your own maps.
