Map Data

Description SkyRay and spudzalot collab. Yar.

This map was featured on 2012-04-15

Any work of architecture that has with it some discussion, some polemic, I think is good. It shows that people are interested, people are involved.
Either way, this map is great. The atmosphere envelops you it magically to play again and again.
From here I want to appeal, this should not be the last map of these great authors. — zoasBE

Oh, dammit, I never got around to featuring this. Buried on my list.

Really Fun.

I like these 'playparkesque' maps. :3
All Gold Demo. Agree with the awkward gold ideas though. 4.5/5^ from me.

map. YYEEEEES.

I like it

I love to read the diversity of opinions, all valid. This map took them from the beginning.

Map was fun.

What more do I need than that? This was as actually quite well made, and was just challenging enough not to be a pain in the ass.

"I'm just frustrated mostly with how much the community has died out. It honestly use to be a great community, about 2-3 years ago. I'm happy there are at least a few good folks slumming around. " - The opinion of everyone who's been a member of something online for more than two years.

Also, nice switches.
Sadly, this is a only an average map, in my personal opinion at least. Pros: It is pretty (Important to me), it has a theme to it it seems, and The bottom section has a definite charm to it. However, gameplay wise, this is average at best. I definitely agree with comments that say this map is a bit "bland", it is. The enemies don't do much, making this almost like what i call a "Playground map", in that it gives a lot of room and time to just jump around and play in the landscape a bit. In general that playground-esque gameplay I enjoy, but here it doesnt really work, especially that there is a lot of jumping on the left side wall that occurs, and the tiles are a bit awkward for jumping around in the upper reaches of the map. These two authors have made much better, and I wish those were the maps that had been put in the spotlight over this one.

As for the review:
It does not say much about the map, and doesn't really mention a strong reason for why the map has been reviewed in the first place.

This gets a 2.5 rounded up from me.

Improved AGD

After reading the comments and being persuaded by them in one way or another, I feel that this is less fun, but I appreciate the tiles and design more.

anyways, very cool choice.

Dude your the coolest

Goddamn.

That is sexy.
IT IS SO SEXY WHERE DID YOU GET THAT

OH MY GOSH

SO MANY COMMENTS LET ME COMMENT TOO I WANT TO COMMENT PLEASE

hy

i'm nuggets and i'm new can you make a easy mpa for me please im not gud at the fast warior ninja game thanks
when you go school, you go for study, not make friends, but sometimes you make friends, other times enemies. When you go jobbing, similar. And when you to market, is better to be friends with the cashier.
Obiously you're here to make//show maps, like me, like all of us. But honestly i think is better and more interesting/productive make friend, and not enemies. Something like in your life.

ALSO

I am not this community. I could care less about this community as a whole, and it's definitely not what's kept me coming back over the years. In fact, contrary to that,
it's usually the thing that makes me want to quit. I'm here to make maps, not friends.
There's a correlation between the quality of a creative product and the amount of attention it recieves, let's not pretend there isn't. I don't like the map and I told you that. apakenua's comment is hardly as relevent or productive as mine, and I don't see you accusing him of having useless things to say. That hurt, and it was uncalled for.

Bloopity bloopity

dingle dangle dingle

and no, comments

don't boost map position, at least i'm 95% sure.
there's already been 7 walls before yours haha

Here's

my route for getting the gold.

I agree with Zvarri.

By the way, don't comments bump maps up on the Hot Maps page? So if you were frustrated at a map staying on the top for a while, wouldn't it be better to just ignore it?
The gold is pretty, and the tileset is excellent, but I don't think the two gel together. I think it would be a bit more satisfying if the map was arranged so that lines of gold could more easily be collected in smooth movements - I checked a couple of AGDs and it's obvious that the player is struggling to control the ninja to get all the gold in a line at once. I'm bad at expressing what I mean here, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at.

That's my only real criticism - I think the bottom half of the map made up for the awkwardness of the top. It's a lot smoother, and, as Life247 said, the door and switch placement is incredibly smart. The bottom isn't quite as stylish as the top but it plays a bit better in my opinion.

I'm not very experienced so you can disregard my comment if you like. I did enjoy the map, I just think it's a bit awkward and unsatisfying in the upper half.
I think the friction that the negative comments cause is one of our main glues that's left keeping the community going solid-enough-ly! I would be unlikely to be talking to you or anything had there not been the negative comments, then your reaction etc. And if you think about it, whenever people have done that shit of cutting down popular maps, it actually seems to unite us? we take sides, all put in our opinion on if we like the map, how much we like the map, if someone is being stupid, why we like the map, why we don't like it. It's sparks activity. So even if it's not a... smart? thing? I suppose. It actually might be helping our community out.
community. I mean, not that I can really comment, I'm part of the problem, I barely contribute now. But in terms of the comments. eh... well I do get your frustration about like, eganic's comment and nphasis' forth comment. But you seem to also be wanting blind praise, which would make this place artificial and maybe more bland than it increasingly is? Criticism's good. uninformative negative comments are bad. But yeah. At first I was all, stop bitching. But I get your point a little, this thing of cutting down any map that takes the spotlight is a little silly.

and aesthetically I like the strange circles that can be seen on the map
(sorry the spam)
In general terms is a good map and feel that there is some work on it, perhaps gold area at the top left, should be more elaborate, something like less gold, or placed in a better way to acquire better flow. What I like is that there is a trick within the map, it is not necessary to open the switches and gives to map a different and challenging way to Speedrun. Then there are interesting little details like that, not enough help from the 'lpads' to reach our goals, and forced to do jumping between walls. And the area below, to me it's clever, unlike Aidiera's opinion, and I think it's perfect, fair and challenging, but not overloaded, the map already been enough. I gave a 5 because I only like to give 5, rarely 4, and never 3 or lower.

i apologize for my pathetic grammar
but I think that above all should also be friends and COLLEAGUES. and this is what is missing in NUMA, a lot of jealousy and competition here insane. we need more partners, to tell us honestly what they think of our map, good or bad, but never disregard for who we are, or excessive attention to be other, or vote by vote (something like rating the map automatically because have a lot of votes that takes several days in the hot page) or not to vote for not voting (something like, ah! this map is by 'xxx', neither game nor vote!). I think we should be fair, critical and self-critical and more of our fellow classmates. Actually if you think sensibly and cold, we are destroying a great community we enjoy every day and feeds us!
In my case, I have not played this map because is by Skyray/spudzalot, but because I found something interesting in it to make a cool and entertain Speedrun. And I voted because I vote all the maps I play, or I pay some attention.

The only problem I have with feedback on this map is that the majority of you have decided to comment and not critique even in the slightest. I love that this map has actually gotten any sort of praise. I was hardly expecting more than 5 ratings. This is the first time me and spudz have bonded over N in a good amount of time. We are both proud of this map and we're glad its been the center of attention for a while. I'm just frustrated mostly with how much the community has died out. It honestly use to be a great community, about 2-3 years ago. I'm happy there are at least a few good folks slumming around. However I still think every time a map stays on the top for any longer than a day people start to get frustrated, and I just don't see why. Let people enjoy their spotlight and move on.
Nobody likes a kissass. Nobody's complaining that this map has been on top for too long. That's what you think they're complaining about. I think they're just upset at the strange lack of commentary. Also, I hope you're not getting sniped, because you deserve better than that.

(This next statement goes for all of you by the way.) The thing that will take NUMA the farthest is honest commentary. No trolling, no memes, no spam. I try to tell mappers exactly what I think of the map in hopes that they'll take my criticisms (or praises) in stride and use them to improve. Most of the time I either get yelled at or ignored. But I soldier on.

The reason this map has gotten more attention than normal is because it was made by two above average authors. There's no denying that. The fact that this is getting mixed reviews is actually a good sign since it promotes debate and opinion-sharing (when kept within reason). I'm sure you didn't post this map expecting to just receive praise and approval. NUMA should be about getting feedback, no matter who you are.

Played it again. Loved it.

kinda

looks like hot air balloons.

You can all stop being partypoopers now.

A map gets too much attention then everybody brings out the bad in it. Sure this map isn't perfect, but no map ever is. Why can't NUMA just be a happy place anymore. Everyone came here for a decent community, support, mapping. Now everyone is pushed away because they either don't get enough attention, or when they do, they are hated upon in the worst way, anonymous low ratings or poor critique of a map they actually worked on. Point out the good parts and the bad parts. I'm fighting a losing battle here though, so I'll stop.

And eganic: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all unless it comes with some actual criticism. You're a debbie downer with no real substance behind anything that comes from anything you have to say.
I don't like as much.

fun

I don't get the

massive appeal for this? it's good, you can collect the gold by jumping up the chutes especially. But I don't get the consensus of it being flawless/amazing etc.
