Tick . Tock . Tick . Tock
lori_csabi; while a relatively new addition to the NUMA community, has a certain talent in his mapping style. ‘Universal Clock’ displays this talent in the way it seemingly comes across as a map within a frame that expanses across galaxies. Creating a map that appears larger than the frame it is set in is a rare and revered talent that few map makers can achieve; However here, Csabi uses meticulous gold placement and linear tile pillars to set about a 'space-picturesque' that reflects the true scale of its playability.
My time is up.

honestly i'm jealous.

a well deserved feature
for a well deserved person.

Congrats Csabi
on the feature!
Due to poor enemy placement on either side it was incredibly frustrating and any thrill was shortlived. Tileset and aesthetics were boss though, and contrary to izzy, i loved the center matrix.
but I wish it was a different map. Unlike george, I think the gauss are all fine; it's the rockets that I hate. Also:
"in some ways this is a feature commending him - rather than the map itself."
I'm surprised that a huge shit-storm hasn't happened yet regarding this comment :p

Meh
Middle section lacked flow (especially getting to the switches, each gold section had one rocket/gauss too many (entering them by going behind one-ways wasn't a great quirk either). I would love to see the mines in the middle section removed, as well as the one-ways blocking easy access into the gold areas.
The gold would sometimes cause delay (and consequently, stuttering on the bounceblocks D:). Maybe separated clumps a bit further from the blocks?
I do agree that some parts of the map seemed bigger than they actually were, though.
3, a few changes would earn a 4 from me.

Not in a literal sense,
But it feels and plays larger than it really is. The way the tiles are arranged and the space in general gives the impression of something that is more than confined to the frame.

I'm not saying
the map is great because it looks big - I'm saying that it takes skill to craft a map that makes itself larger than what it really is. You see this a lot in Yahoozy, Losttortuga etc... But it was especially impressive for a new author such as lori_csabi to be achieving this; and not only in this map. Many of his other maps have this same quality and in some ways this is a feature commending him - rather than the map itself.

I remember playing this when it came out
and not liking it. I still don't like it. I think it's the awkwardness of moving around, and their being so many gausses, rockets and mines everywhere. I could just never get comfortable.
I remember playing this when it came out. I really didn't like it then and I really don't like it now, either.

Agree with cage.
The map would've been a lot better without the gauss in each 'universe'.
Aesthetically, some of the mines looked out of place. 3/5

This map is rather amazing =)
I did think the rocket AND guass in the gold sections was a tad excessive though. Maybe just one or the other?
