Excellent map, utterly beautiful. I'm a sucker for this style. I think that while you didn't nail the style, it fits in a sort of generic way.

"There's no real narrative.." Exactly which part of your entry constituted a real narrative. That's just a load of pseudo babble. Not to mention "traps at every turn". You see , that really depends on how you define 'trap' but I'm fairly certain that no matter how you do so, the chaingun/gausses here are just as valid as your thwumps/floorguards.
Wasn't altogether too keen on this map, but it's alright. I hope at least one entry doesn't make use of 4 tiles.

Nice tiles.
But I don't really get the link between this an the review. There's no real narrative or journey to it, and the idea of traps at every turn isn't explored properly.
