Unless I had the intention to copy it. There's a difference between setting out to copy a style and setting out to develop an idea into something that works.

However, I will rework this map, because I'm satisfied with the concept that I was trying to pull off and I dont want something like this to ruin the one inspired idea Ive had in a while.

Each section of the map looks like it's been copied and pasted from an atob map. I don't see how you can claim that you /haven't/ copied him.

Having said that, it does play fairly well. Not as crisp and clean as an atob map, but it was still fun.
But that's besides the point. If this map is going to be branded by this stigma and nothing else then I guess theres no point having it up here, regardless of whether it's any better than my other maps.
You just need to take a step back from your own work and realize that this entire map is atob-does-messy-and-generic-puzzle-maps.

In other words

I never intended copying anyone. I'm done with that, I wouldn't have submitted this knowing full well that I copied someone else just because.

Also, I'm interested to see what you think belongs to atob here. I came up with the tile shape I used for the base, and evolved that through a number of different phases before coming to one that was this playable. So not those.

After playing it through, I found the minejumper bits were a bit finicky at the bottom, so I decided to add launchpads that ricochet the player off the tiles to get them where they want. I havent seen atob do that.

When this was almost done, I decided the flat bottoms were a little bland, so I decided to experiment with some bounceblocks as I dont do that often enough. They worked, so I decided to keep them.

So what here belongs to atob?
I already had an idea for this and worked it through a couple of phases before subbing it. Imo, the development process I went through for this makes it individual. If you want impose "someone else"'s image onto it that's not my problem.

is that your maps are endlessly compared to theirs. So if the maps you make aren't nearly as good as the other person's, you have no ground to stand on. That being said, individuality is an awesome thing to have anyways.
